To participate in the Project Soane competition, please register below.  Within 24 hours on business days an account will be created for you on Autodesk A360 and an invitation sent for you to join the group.  Simply follow the instructions in that email and you will gain access to all of the competition rules and information.

SHORT VERSION

Participation in Project Soane is open to all visitors of  http://modeling.projectsoane.com that become registered members.

A person or group that participants in Project Soane is referred to as a “Participant”. Participant means you or your company as context requires.

If Participant does not currently own an Autodesk software product, Participant can download a - trial version.

Prizes will be awarded to some Participants, as determined by a panel of judges, based on the following criteria:

 

(1) Historical accuracy, (2) most innovative use of Revit, (3) greatest student contribution, and (4) most active and supportive community member and (5) First 500 contributors.

 

The Historical accuracy winner will receive:

One (1) HP Z1 G2 Touch Workstation

The most innovative use of Revit winner will receive:

One (1) HP Z230 SFF Workstation and a Z24i display

The greatest student contribution winner will receive:

One (1) HP ZBook 15 Mobile Workstation

The winner for most active and supportive community member will receive:

One (1) HP Z230 SFF X24i display

The first 500 project contributors will receive:

One (1)  Kindle version of Paul F. Aubin’s book: Renaissance Revit.

 

The submission deadline is November 15 2015 at 5:00pm PDT (GMT-7). Prize winners will be notified no later than December  31, 2015.

 

If the Participant is an individual, Participant must be 21 years or older to enter this competition and 21 years

 

Project Soane Sponsors will have usage rights to all submitted materials as agreed to by the Participant when entering the competition.

LONG VERSION

The Project Soane BIM crowdsourcing effort (“Project Soane”) is operated by CASE Design Inc. (“CASE”) (projectsoane.com) and sponsored by those businesses found on our sponsor page (“Sponsors”). With the exception of CG Architect, Sponsors are not responsible for operating, managing, administering, or otherwise running Project Soane. Any questions or concerns that Participants have about Project Soane should be directed to CASE and/or CGarchitect. A person or group that participants in the competition is referred to as a “Participant”. Participant means you or your company as context requires.

Eligibility:

Project Soane is open to only registered members of projectsoane.com. If the Participant is an individual, Participant must be 21 years or older to qualify for prizes. Project Soane is subject to all federal, provincial, state and local laws and regulations where Participant is located or resides and is void if prohibited by your local laws or regulations. Participants from countries that are currently on any embargo lists from the United States or Canada are considered automatically disqualified and any entries from such Participants will be rejected. Participants agree to abide by the terms of these official rules and by the decisions of CASE which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to Project Soane. CASE reserves the right to disqualify any Participant that it determines, in its sole discretion, is ineligible to participate in Project Soane.

 

Summary:

In order to participate in Project Soane, Phase 1 (crowdsourcing), Participant must register on projectsoane.com (no purchase necessary). Valid entries will be collected for the specified period of Phase 1. At the end of Phase 1, an independent panel of judges selected by CASE and Sponsors will decide the winning project Participants. The decisions of these judges are final and not appealable in any fashion.

 

Representations:

By entering Project Soane, Participant warrants to CASE that:

Participant meets all eligibility requirements of Project Soane and Participant understands and agrees to the rules of Project Soane; AND

Participant is complying with all applicable statutes, regulations, and other laws; AND;

Any projects the Participant submits are the Participant’s original work and do not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of other parties. Any entry found to be plagiarized or that is proved to be an infringing work will be automatically disqualified and may subject the Participant to criminal and civil liabilities. If the Participant is a company, the person entering a contribution to Project Soane on behalf of their company represents and warrants that he or she is an authorized representative of such company, and that he or she has the power and authority to make such statements, enter Project Soane, bind the company, and conduct such actions on behalf of such company.

Cost:

There is no cost to participate in Project Soane. No purchase is necessary.

 

Judging Criteria:

By entering Project Soane, Participant agrees to the following judging criteria:

Judging will be performed by a panel of expert judges selected by CASE and Sponsors.

A single prize is awarded to winning Participants. If a winning Participant is a company, school, or group, that organization is to determine how their prize should be allocated.

 

Use of Entries and Participant Information:

To the maximum extent permitted by law, by participating in Project Soane and opting into the terms in this section (“Use of Entries and Participant Information”) through the relevant check-box on the Project Soane registration page, Participant agrees to the following (provided, however, that to the extent any conditions in this section are prohibited by law, such conditions shall be void):

By submitting Participant agrees that, CASE and its designated Sponsors may use its submission(s), fully credited, for promotional purposes on their websites and/or marketing collateral. Each Participant consents to the use by CASE, Sponsors, or any third party chosen by CASE or Sponsors, of the submission related to Project Soane, including but not limited to project information, explanatory material, images, photos and/or videos, as well as any personal information obtained through Project Soane, for advertising, marketing, PR and other similar purposes. CASE and Sponsors are not required to return to the Participant all or any part of a Participant’s submission to Project Soane.

Each Participant grants CASE or any third party chosen by CASE the non-exclusive right to make audio, video, photographic, or other recordings of the Participant (collectively, the “Renderings”) which may feature or simulate Participant’s name, voice, likeness, image, gestures, mannerisms, signature, written or spoken words, biographical information, or other aspects of Participant’s persona (collectively, the “Depiction”) and to use such Renderings and Depiction in connection with any or all of CASE’s internal or external advertising, marketing, promotional, PR and/or sales materials in all media and by all means (now known or hereafter devised).

By accepting a prize for winners, a Participant consents to publication in any media form of such Participant’s full name, voice, photograph, biographical material, and likeness by CASE, Sponsors, or any third party chosen by CASE or Sponsors, on any winner list, advertising, marketing, and other materials without additional compensation or notice. Other than as set forth herein, CASE and Sponsors will individually treat any personal information supplied by Participants according to each of their respective privacy policies.

 

Important Dates:

Project Soane will begin on July 14, 2015 and will end no later than June 30, 2016 at 5:00pm PDT (GMT-7). Winners will be notified no later than December 31, 2015. Winner announcements will be made no later than December 2015.

Release:

To the maximum extent permitted by law, by entering Project Soane, Participant agrees to release and hold harmless CASE, Sponsors, prize manufacturers, and their related companies and representatives from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with or resulting from participation in Project Soane and/or acceptance, possession, or use of any prize(s) including, without limitation, intellectual property infringement, lost or incomplete entries, personal injuries, death, property damages and any claims by third parties or otherwise based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy. Participant acknowledges that CASE and Sponsors have no liability for nor make any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, with regards to any prizes. Participant agrees to pay for any damages, losses, liabilities, costs, penalties, and expenses, including without limitation attorneys’ and experts’ fees and costs, incurred in connection with any claims brought against CASE or Sponsors in connection with Participant’s participation in Project Soane.

 

Limitation of Liability:

PARTICIPANT ACKNOWLEDGES THAT, With the exception of CGarchitect, Sponsors are not responsible for managing, administrating, or otherwise running Project Soane.

If for any reason Project Soane is not capable of running as planned, including but not limited to such issues as computer viruses, participant fraud, technical failures, or any other cause that could affect the integrity of Project Soane, CASE reserves the right to terminate, suspend, or otherwise modify Project Soane. CASE reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to disqualify any Participant who violates the rules of Project Soane. CASE assumes no responsibility for any lost Project Soane entries, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, technical malfunction of servers/software, or unauthorized access and alteration of Project Soane submissions. All limitations of liability in the cgarchitect.com Terms of Use apply. PRIZES WILL BE AWARDS “AS IS.” NEITHER CASE NOR SPONSORS MAKES AND EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTY, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, REGARDING ANY PRIZE OR PORTION THEREOF, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED OR STATUTORY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON- INFRINGEMENT.

 

Jurisdiction:

Any dispute that may arise hereunder shall be brought solely in the appropriate provincial or federal court sitting in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and participants consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such court.

When a challenge regarding the accuracy of personal information is not resolved to your satisfaction, we will annotate the personal information under its control with a note that the correction was requested but not made.

Safeguards

We protect the personal information in our custody or control by making reasonable security arrangements to prevent unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks.

We will take reasonable steps, through contractual or other reasonable means, to ensure that a comparable level of personal information protection is implemented by the suppliers and agents who assist in providing services to you. Providing Access
